Congresswoman Porter will give her perspective on the key issues of the day including pandemic response, healthcare, economic and social justice, and the right to vote, and will take questions from the audience.

Katie Porter is the US Representative for CA-45 and is an active voice in congress speaking for the people against corporate special interests, lobbyists, and corrupt politicians. Elected in the 2018 Blue Wave, Katie was formerly a law professor at UC Irvine, with degrees from Harvard Law and Yale. She is known for her tough and pointed questioning of officials and her deft use of visual aids.
Joe Simitian, well known by our local DVC community, will moderate and interview Katie. He is a Santa Clara County Supervisor and former California State Senator and State Assemblyman. He is recognized for his work on Healthcare, Education, Consumer Protection and the Environment, and has degrees from both Stanford and UC Berkeley!
This is a fundraiser for the Democratic Volunteer Center (DVC) of Silicon Valley, a fully volunteer organization providing infrastructure and technology support for local volunteers and resistance groups working with 2020 Democratic campaigns, including the Joe Biden campaign and targeted national Senate and Congressional races. Our ActBlue funding flows through the Santa Clara County Democratic Party.
