As of early 2025\, half of the states in the country have passed cruel laws banning gender-affirming care\, which means that thousands of transgender youth and their families are being forced to travel extreme distances and take on significant expenses just to get the medical care that they need. \n\n\n\nTYEP networks with community partners and providers to provide information about anti-trans healthcare restrictions. They help families understand their options for out-of-state care and provide referrals to medical providers. DESCRIPTION:Join the Bay Area Coalition for a presentation by Shannon Watts. The day after the Sandy Hook tragedy\, Shannon started a Facebook group that eventually became Moms Demand Action\, a grassroots movement of Americans fighting for public safety measures that protect people from gun violence. Moms Demand Action has established a chapter in every state of the country and is part of Everytown for Gun Safety\, with 10 million members. Shannon will update us on her latest projects and give us guidance on how to talk to voters about gun safety.
