DESCRIPTION:You’re never too young to make a difference! Join It’s Blue Turn for an in-person event specially designed for teens ages 12 to 18 who want to learn how they can influence the world around them\, even before they’re old enough to vote. We’ll talk about how political change happens and concrete steps you can take to stand up for your values\, either as an individual or a young organizer. You will even get a chance to take an easy meaningful action right at the meeting. If you’re feeling concerned about what’s happening in our country\, this is your chance to turn those feelings into action. \n\n\n\nIt’s Blue Turn is a group of dedicated volunteers who started to meet weekly in Mountain View in 2019 to increase Democratic voter turnout. We are continuing the work to safeguard our democracy both remotely and in person.

DESCRIPTION:Trans lives matter ! Join the Democratic Volunteer Center to learn about the Trans Youth Emergency Project (TYEP). As of early 2025\, half of the states in the country have passed cruel laws banning gender-affirming care\, which means that thousands of transgender youth and their families are being forced to travel extreme distances and take on significant expenses just to get the medical care that they need. \n\n\n\nTYEP networks with community partners and providers to provide information about anti-trans healthcare restrictions. They help families understand their options for out-of-state care and provide referrals to medical providers. Carolyn Jones\, TYEP program manager with the Campaign for Southern Equality\, will describe the critical services that they offer and let us know how we can support them.

It would expire in December of 2028. The special election will be held on March 4.
