DESCRIPTION:Trans lives matter ! Join the Democratic Volunteer Center to learn about the Trans Youth Emergency Project (TYEP). As of early 2025\, half of the states in the country have passed cruel laws banning gender-affirming care\, which means that thousands of transgender youth and their families are being forced to travel extreme distances and take on significant expenses just to get the medical care that they need. \n\n\n\nTYEP networks with community partners and providers to provide information about anti-trans healthcare restrictions. They help families understand their options for out-of-state care and provide referrals to medical providers. Carolyn Jones\, TYEP program manager with the Campaign for Southern Equality\, will describe the critical services that they offer and let us know how we can support them.

Join us to call voters to elect Kamala Harris for President and Tim Walz for Vice President. We’ll also call to help elect candidates in swing states. We’re calling to ask voters for support. Let’s hold the White House and the Senate! \n\n\n\nDon’t worry if you’ve never phone banked before—we’ll have friendly trainers who will support you and teach you how to get voters to the polls to elect Kamala\, Tim\, and the other candidates. Tech support will also be available if you’re a struggling techno caller. And if you’re a seasoned phone banker\, great! \n\n\n\nIf you are comfortable phonebanking from your own laptop computer\, bring it along with your phone and\, most importantly\, a good headset (for either phone or laptop). Power outlets may be limited\, so bring your devices charged. However\, you will use your own computer ONLY when we reach full capacity; we will first sit everyone at our ready-to-call DVC laptops with headsets etc. \n\n\n\nMost important: come into the DVC as much as you can to phone for Kamala and close strong. We are the Democratic “ground game advantage”—if we call. See you at the DVC!
